Geochemical Characteristics and Implications for Deep Prospecting in the Gemalong Silver Deposit in Dulan County, Qinghai Province
      The Gemalong silver deposit is situated in the eastern segment of the East Kunlun orogenic belt and is a recently discovered medium-sized deposit. To further expand the scale of the deposit and explore the deep prospecting space, this study conducted geochemical analyses on the Ⅲ ore belt along the 16th exploration line, analyzing 15 elements including Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn, As, Sb, Hg, F, Mn, W, Sn, Mo, Bi, and Co. Using correlation, factor, cluster analyses, the study identified elemental associations indicative of multi-stage hydrothermal superimposed mineralization. The Grigoryan method was applied to determine the primary halo zoning index. Results show that the near-ore halo elements are Ag, Au, Cu, Pb, and Zn, front halo elements are Hg, As, and Sb(F), and tail halo elements are W, Mo, Bi, Sn(Mn)(Co). The axial zoning sequence from top to bottom is F→Hg→W→Co→Cu→Pb→Au→Bi→Ag→As→Mn→Sb→Zn→Sn→Mo. Anomalies of the main ore-forming elements Ag, Au, Pb, and Zn are generally consistent with the ore body. The coexistence and overlapping of front halo, near-ore halo, and tail-halo elements continuous mineralization extending into deeper zones without abrupt termination. geochemical parameters variation curves of the primary halo exhibit a “rise–fall–rise” pattern, with all parameters increasing between the 3 800 m and 3 700 m level, indicating significant extension potential below the 3 700 m level. It is inferred that the ore body may extend downward into deeper zones, suggesting considerable potential for resource expansion at depth.
