| Fluid Inclusion Characteristics and the Hydrocarbon Accumulation Stages of the Middle Jurassic Buqu Formation in the Qiangtang Basin |
| The hydrocarbon accumulation stages of the Buqu carbonate reservoirs (J2b) in different tectonic units in the Qiangtang Basin remains unclear. In this study, the carbonate reservoirs of the Buqu Formation in the Biluo Co area, Southern Qiangtang, and in the Shengli River area, Northern Qiangtang, were taken as re-search objects, and petrography, microthermometry, and salt measurements of the fluid inclusions were performed. The results showed that the Biluo Co area experienced three stages of hydrocarbon charging during the burial period. The first stage occurred during the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous and was a high oil charging period. The second stage occurred during the Late Cretaceous and was the oil and gas charging period. The third stage occurred in the Early Paleogene, with a large amount of natural gas charging. The Shengli River area also experienced three hydrocarbon charging stages during its burial period. The first stage occurred during the Early Cretaceous and included a large amount of oil and a minor amount of natural gas filling. The second stage occurred in the Late Paleocene–Early Eocene and was dominated by oil and gas filling. The third stage of accumulation occurred in the Late Eocene, and the reservoir was filled with a large amount of natural gas. The Buqu Formation in both southern and northern Qiangtang developed some fluid inclusions with relatively high homogenization temperatures, which may be related to the thrust faults and magmatic hydrothermal activities. The second accumulation occurred during the Cenozoic. In general, the hydrocarbon accumulation period in Southern Qiangtang occurred earlier than that in Northern Qiangtang. |
