Lithofacies Characteristics and Resource Potential Analysis of Lithofacies of Carboniferous in Litian–Wangxian Area, Liling,Hunan Province |
The Carboniferous strata in Hunan Province are rich in quartz sandstone resources. The study of this stratigraphic sequence contributes to the in-depth analysis of the paleogeographic features of the formation of quartz sand. It explores the genesis and distribution of quartz sand by integrating the tectonic background. It provides a theoretical basis for the source of raw materials required for developing the silicon industry in our province. Therefore, based on the carboniferous strata section and borehole core characteristics in the Litian–Wangxian area and combined with the paleogeographical background, this paper summarizes the carboniferous strata in this area and finds that the carboniferous strata have the following characteristics: (1) The study area is located in the northern margin of the Liling–Youxian Rift Basin, where the high-maturity quartzite sandstones of the Zhangshuwan Formation were deposited; (2) The Carboniferous system in this area experienced many regressive-transgressive cyclic sedimentation processes, which reflected the formation process from the shelf construction to the carbonate platform; (3) The Carboniferous system in this area is controlled by topographic conditions and influenced by syngenetic faults, and their sedimentary differences are obvious. This study has guiding significance for developing Carboniferous quartz sandstone deposits in the Liling area. |
