40Ar-39Ar Age of Sericite from the Tugurige Gold Deposit in Inner Mongolia and Its Geological Significance
      The Tugurige gold deposit, which is located in the western part of the Xing'an–Mongolia Orogenic Belt (XMOB), is a large tonnage gold deposit. The gold mineralization of this deposit can be divided into sulfide quartz-vein and altered host rock types. However, the age of the gold mineralization remains controversial. In this paper, 40Ar-39Ar dating was carried out on the sericite from altered ores of the main mineralization stage, yielding a plateau age of (258.9±1.6) Ma (MSWD=0.69) and a isochronal age of (259.2±2.9) Ma (MSWD=5.4), which are consistent with the pyrite Re-Os age ((268±15) Ma) reported by other geologists. Combined with regional geological background and previous studies on Tugurige gold deposit, we suggest that the metallogenic age of the Tugurige gold deposit is (268–259) Ma. The syenogranite (265 Ma) and gold mineralization of the Tugurige gold deposit were found to have very close genetic relationships, indicating that this deposit is a magmatic hydrothermal gold deposit. The Permian is an important period in which economic gold mineralization associated with granitic magmatism was deposited in the XMOB.
