Mineral Water Types and Geological Control in Karst Plateau of Eastern Yunnan |
The karst plateau area in eastern Yunnan has a complex stratigraphic structure and a complete range of outcropping rocks. The north belongs to the Upper Yangtze Platform and the south belongs to the South China Fold Belt. Geochemical processes and karstification processes have led to diverse types of mineral springs and abundant water resources. 363 water points consisting of various types of mineral springs have been discovered. Through investigation and summary, the mineral water in the area is classified into 6 types: metasilicic acid, salt, trace element, carbonic acid, compound type, and warm mineral water; according to the main controlling factors of formation conditions, the genetic types can be divided into 3 types: fault zone convection type, deep circulation stratification control type, and underflow leaching type. Karst has an impact on the formation of mineral water in eastern Yunnan, and can form characteristic strontium mineral water. The problems in development and utilization are summarized, and countermeasures and suggestions for optimal utilization of mineral water are put forward. |
