Micro-topographic Features Detection in Natural Gas Hydrate Survey Area
      This paper presents the results of microtopographic detection using the acoustic deep tow and ROV (remote operated vehicle) in the natural gas hydrate survey area. Pockmark and submarine dome were detected on the seabed beneath which there are three gas chimneys shown in seismic profile obtained from the preliminary exploration. Besides, in the cold seep area where the hydrates erupted, the location of the cold seep vents was first determined by using deep tow sonar and ROV was used for accurate exploration. Authigenic carbonate mounds, mud volcanoes, cold seep plumes and typical living creature were identified.
