Types, Characteristics, and Tectonic Evolution of Pb-Zn Deposits on the Northern Margin of the North China Block |
In this paper, the authors provide an overview of the types, characteristics, and temporal-spatial distributions of the Pb-Zn deposits on the northern margin of the North China Block, and try to relate these deposits to the tectonic evolution of the North China Block, based on the data from both the documents both in China and abroad. The major ore deposits are of SEDEX, skarn, hydrothermal, sediment-reformed, MVT, and complex types. Large-scale mineralizations occurred notably in the Mesoproterozoic, Late Paleozoic and Mesozoic and reached the peak in Mesoproterozoic and Mesozoic. The Mesoproterozoic was a productive period for SEDEX, sediment-reformed, and MVT Pb-Zn deposits. These deposits were mainly formed in the rift of the passive continental margin. The Late Paleozoic period formed a small number of hydrothermal Pb-Zn deposits as a result of the extending and delamination after the amalgamation between the North China Block and the Mongolia fold belt on the southern margin of the Siberia block. The Mesozoic was a significant metallogenic period for hydrothermal and skarn deposits. These deposits were mainly formed in intracontinental tectonic settings resulting from the superposition of Eurasian and western Pacific Ocean dynamic systems. |
