A Study of Engineering Construction Suitability Integrated Evaluation of Surface-underground Space in Xiongan New Area
      To support the master planning of the Xiongan New Area, China Geological Survey organized large scale engineering geological survey in the period from June to August, 2017. Taking the representative demonstration area for example, an integrated evaluation method for surface-underground space engineering construction suitability was proposed and applied to the evaluation of the whole Xiongan New Area. According to the results obtained, site stability of Xiongan New Area is good, and stable area and basically stable area account for 89.5%; engineering construction suitability of Xiongan New Area is good. The whole area is favorable or suitable for the construction. There are 3 stratums with high bearing capacity of foundation soil respectively at the depths of 15~20 m, 35~45 m and 55~70 m, which should be preferentially used for pile end bearing strata of multistoried, high-rise and super high-rise buildings. The conditions of underground space development in Xiongan New Area are suitable. The authors suggest that large-scale exploration should be conducted in underground space at the depth shallower than 70 m and in 3 layers: full development of the space at the depth of 0~30 m, moderate development of the space at the depth of 30~50 m and advanced planning the space at the depth of 50~70 m. The authors suggest strengthening harmonized mechanism of the underground space and shallow geothermal energy exploitation. Several adverse geological engineering problems such as land subsidence, ground fissure, sand liquefaction and soft soil appear in local areas should be considered carefully in regulatory detailed planning and geotechnical engineering investigation.
