Metallogenic Epoch of the Wanquansi Silver-gold Deposit in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, and Its Geological Significance |
The Wanquansi silver-gold deposit is a typical ore deposit related to volcanic hydrothermal activity in northern Hebei Province. Silver minerals and gold minerals are mainly embedded in sphalerite, galena, pyrite, chalcopyrite and other sulfides in the form of inclusions. Sulfide is the main gold-bearing mineral in the Wanquansi ore deposit, the formation time of sulfide can represent the metallogenic time of silver and gold. The metallogenic time of the Wanquansi silver-gold deposit is (144±4) Ma obtained by the method of Rb-Sr isotopic dating. Dating samples were collected from sphalerite, galena and pyrite. The metallogenic epoch of the Wanquansi silver-gold deposit was close to that of the other ore deposits located in the northeastern place of the Shanghuangqi–Wulonggou tectonic-magmatite belt, and this stage was also the main activity period of the tectonic-magmatite belt. Isotope ages indicate that there existed a large scale mineralization of metals and precious metals related to the intermediate-acid magma activity during the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous period. |
