| An Overview of the Pterosaur Fossil Record in China |
| A review of the discovery and study of Chinese pterosaurs is presented here. Since the first pterosaur specimen was discovered at Mengyin in Shandong Province (Yong, 1935) (Yong (1958) questioned this identification due to its incompleteness), more specimens were found, including the undoubted pterosaur Dsungaripterus weii from the Lower Cretaceous Dsungar Basin of Xinjiang of Northwestern China (Yong, 1964) which, incidentally, confirmed that the 1935 find was pterosaurian after all. |
