Lithologic and Reservoir Physical Properties of Carbonate Rocks in the Middle Jurassic Buqu Formation inside Qiangzi-2 Borehole of the Qiangtang Basin in Northern Tibet |
This paper mainly discusses the lithologic and reservoir physical properties of Middle Jurassic marine carbonate rocks in northern Tibetan Qiangtang basin. Carbonate Rocks of Buqu Formation consist dominantly of sparry oolitic limestone, micritic dolomite, micritic limestone and transitional limestone. Reservoir space is composed of pores and fissures. Pores can be classified into intergranular secondary pores, dissolution voids in the cement, dissolution voids in the granular intercrystalline pores and dissolution pores in crystals, whereas fissures can be divided into tectonic fissures, tectonic-dissolution fissures, dissolution fissures and stylolites. The average porosity of sparry oolitic limestone is 1.084%, and its average permeability is 0.0319×10-3 mm2; the average porosity of dolomite is 1.77% and its average permeability is 0.1591×10-3 mm2. The interstitial physical property parameters show that both sparry oolitic limestone and dolomite have low porosity and low permeability, high displacement pressure, micro-pore throat and mini- pore throat, and minus SK coefficients. The interstitial physical property parameters of micritic limestone and other kinds of carbonate rocks are similar to those of sparry oolitic limestone and dolomite. This paper also discusses the effects of different kinds of diagenesis on the improvement of the reservoir physical properties. |
