Metallogenic Spatial Analysis Based on Fractal Theory: A Case Study of the Kangguertage Gold Ore Belt in Xinjiang
      Using the box-counting dimension method of fractal theory, the authors investigated the spatial distribution of structures and gold deposits in the Kangguertage gold ore belt within the East Tianshan Mountain of Xinjiang and have reached the conclusion that they have double-fractal characteristics. In combination with previous researches, the authors hold that the study area is regionally a ductile shear zone but locally a britele geological body. The distribution of gold deposits is random in a limited area but is regionally controlled by the ductile shear zone and assumes banded or linear arrangement. It should be pointed out that the banded structure and the gold deposits might be products of the same geological period and the same tectonic movement. The transitional place of the ductile-brittle shear zone is the favorable position for gold mineralization.
