Sandstone Diagenesis and Uranium Mineralization of the Zhiluo Formation in the Diantou Area, Southern Ordos Basin
      The Diantou sandstone-type uranium deposit is another important deposit in Ordos basin besides the Dongsheng uranium deposit. By such means as general slice, slice staining, cathodoluminescence, SEM and energy spectrum, electron microprobe, whole rock and clay mineral X-diffraction and fluid inclusions analysis, the authors conducted a comprehensive analysis of the diagenesis of mineral-bearing sandstone of Zhiluo Formation and on such a basis discussed the relationship between diagenetic evolution and uranium mineralization. The results show that Zhiluo Formation sandstone underwent acid→alkalic→acid diagenetic environment and syngenetic oxidation→feeble-reduction in the shallow burial period→feeble oxidation in the transitory elevation period→reduction enhancing in the deep burial period→oxidation/ reduction in the period of large-scale evolutionary process, which controlled the migration, accumulation and localization of uranium ions ultimately. The sandstone-type uranium deposit was generated at the oxidation/reduction zone of shallow bury in the late period of burial diagenesis (equivalent to epigenesis).
