| Characteristics of the Late Permian Palynoflora-Spore and Pollen from Shanxi |
| Well-preserved pollen and spores were found in Late Permian samples from Shanxi Province .The assemblag es include approximately 140 species or forms (60 genera)of microspo res .The microflora composed chiefly of ty pical elements of Late Cathay sia microflo ra is also associated with a few forms of Permian Angara and Gondw ana Land microflora . The Paly noflora of Shanxi Province is basically different from that of Angara Province in the absence of many typical elements .I t seemed that a small number of Gondwana elements mov ed to the Shanxi Province .There existed Carbo niferous and early spores including genera of typical Western European and Norther n America Carboniferous assemblages in Upper Permian in North China . Three microflo ral assemblage zones have been reco gnized.I n ascending o rder they are:3 .Cordiatina subrotata —Complex isporites polymorphus (SP) zone ;2 .Vitreisporites signatus —Lueckisporites virkk iae (SV) zone ;1.Brialatisporites incundus —Nuskoisporites d ulbuntyi (ID)zo ne This is based on a comparative study of stratigraphic ranges of the pollen and spores recovered , in comparison w ith those from other regions in China , European , Nor th America and South Hemisphere. |
