The Metamorphic Deformational Temperature-Pressure Conditions of the Folded Basement in the Jiangnan Uplift
      The metamorphic deformational temperature-pressure conditions of the folded basement in the Jiangnan uplift constitute a crucial basic geological problem which has aroused interest among geologists. Based on studies of illite crystallinity, b-0 values, fluid inclusions and metamorphic mineral facies in the representative plane section, the authors hold that the metamorphic deformational features of fold basement in the Jiangnan Uplift are heterogeneous. Studies also show that the activity might have taken place under the conditions of low temperature and low-middle pressure(estimated temperature 300~400 ℃, pressure 3~5 kbar and geothermal gradient 25 ℃/km). Furthermore, the vertical relative movement of the massif is about 2 km,the orogenic process behaves as integral large-scale uplifting in the folded basement, and the metamorphism and deformation in different tectonic units are approximately consistent. The phenomenon of high macroscopic deformation and low microcosmic deformation of the folded basement in the Jiangnan uplift is attributed to the quasi-plastic deformation at low temperatures.
