Sr Isotope Characteristics of Groundwater in Hebei Plain
      87Sr/86Sr ratios of 28 groundwater samples from an aquifer in Hebei plain are presented in this paper. The water exhibits highly variable 87Sr/86Sr ratios. The difference in Sr isotope composition reflects the regional geological control of water flow in the plain.Six distribution characteristics of Sr isotopes in groundwater are discussed. The 87Sr/86Sr ratios of groundwater in Hebei plain are higher than the ratio of modern mean sea water (87Sr/86Sr=0.709073).The groundwater from Quaternary sediments (Q4-Q1)in the plain shows a systematic increase in 87Sr/86Sr ratuib wutg tge ubcreasubg dustabce abd age frin tge recgarge area ti tge duscgarge area if tge okaub.Hydrological young water exhibits unradiogenic (initial)87Sr/86Sr ratios, whereas older water is significantly more radiogenic, with the 87Sr/86Sr ratio rising to 0.71527 (δ87Sr=8.74‰).This possibly results from the addition of continental Sr through dissolution of aquifer silicates.
