| An Explanation of Correlation between Hydrothermal Heat and 3He in the Mantle |
| On the basis of the correlation between 3He concentration and heat in the hydrothermal fluids and deuterium depletion in the mantle water, the authors hold that the nuclear fusion reaction might occur in the mantle. On such a hypothesis, the correlation between heat and 3He, the high 3He/4He ratios in hydrothermal vent fluids, and the low D in the mantle water can all be satisfactorily explained. |
