Characteristics of Deep Structures under the Nyainqentanglha Mountains |
Using the deep reflection seismic data and MT data of the INDEPTH project, the authors studied in detail the crustal structure. Through the seismic phase analysis of the deep reflection seismic data in comparison with the MT data, the following conclusions have been reached:① The partially melted bodies are several independent domes 15~25 km under the Nyainqentanglha Mountains;② There is a rock body at the depth of 42~54 km in the lower crust, which looks like a NE-striking anticline that stretches northward and becomes increasingly deeper in that direction;③ In the place 20 km north of Dangxiong City, there exists a large fault at the depth of 27~54 km in the middle crust, with the fault displacement as long as 6 km. |
