摘要:
Pleoclimate and Geochemical Composition of AK1 Core Sediments in Lop Nur, Xinjiang
A study of soluble salt and oxide content of Ak1 core sediments in eastern Aqike depression of Lop Nur area indicates that the Aqike depression has been a saline lake since Late Tertiary. Due to the presence of high percentages of SO 2- 4,Cl- and Na+, the lower part of Ak1 core (Late Tertiary) sediments generally contain higher soluble salts than Early Quaternary sediments. The middle part of the core sediments has lower content of soluble salts, especially Cl- and Na+, and has predominantly SO 2- 4 and Ca 2+ ions, indicating a wet and warm climate condition. The upper part of the strata has predominantly Cl-, SO 2- 4 and Na+ ions in soluble salt, and the soluble salt content changes rapidly, indicating a wetting-drying fluctuation trend of the area. The uppermost part of sedimentary strata in the Ak1 core contains rock salt and soluble salt which are mainly composed of Cl- and Na+ ions, and the ions in soluble salt is the highest in this stage, representing an evolutionary trend of the paleolake towards a stage of chlorite lake. These phenomena might be considered to be the beginning of an extremely arid climate condition.
