Texture, Deformation and Formation Background of the Sulu High-Ultrahigh Pressure Metamorphic Belt
      The Su-Lu high-ultrahigh pressure metamorphic belt results from the superimposition of tectonic slices of various grades. It can be divided into nine tectonic slices in southward direction, namely Weihai-Yangkou, Muping-Rushan, Taolin-Shangzhuang,Wulian-Jiaonan, Banquan-Rizhao, Linshu-Haitou, Donghai-Tushan, Lianyungang-Punan and Guanyun-Yangji. The formation and evolution of the complex structure were controlled mainly by early deformation and metamorphism. A study of the deformation indicates that from Proterozonic to Mesozonic the high-ultrahigh pressure metamorphic belt experienced four shear deformation stages. The investigation into the geological setting for the evolution of the high-ultrahigh pressure metamorphic belt reveals that there might have existed two high-ultrahigh metamorphic events in the evolution of the orogenic belt. The tectonic event during Neoproterozonic must have had a close relationship with global Rodinia supercontinent aggregation and cracking-disintegration.
