| Indosinian Orogeny in the Eastern Margin of North China Platform:Tectonic Deformation in Dalian Area |
| As a typical area of intense deformation on thestable platform, Dalian area has been subjected to multi-phase intense deformation events since Mesozoic. Due to violent structural reformation and superimposed deformation, its crustal structure is very complicated. The NS-trending shear traction deformationis the largest and most influential structural deformation in the area, forminggigantic recumbent folds and overturned folds and resulting in large-scale stratigraphic overturning. In this paper, the authors have studied the NS-trendingshear traction deformation through detailed geological investigation and structural analysis, and determined the age of this deformation. It is considered that the post-Indosinian orogeny is the fundamental structural event of the fold-structure framework in Dalian area. The large-scale intraplate deformation is an intracontinental deformation effect of the continent-continent collision between Yangtze plate and Sino-korean plate. |
