Holocene Ostracoda Assemblages and Marine Transgression-Regression Cycle in the Northwestern Coastal Area of the Bohai Gulf |
A borehole 28.0 m in depth has been drilled in Xingtuo of Ninghe County in the northwestern coastal area of the Bohai Gulf, 25 km away from the current seashore. Studies show that the Ostracoda can be divided into seven assemblage layers, which are in upward succession: Ⅰ Candoniella albicans assemblage (28.0~16.0 m);Ⅱ Sinocytheridea impressa Neomonoceratina dongtaiensis assemblage (16.0~9.0 m);Ⅲ Neomonoceratina dongtaiensis Sinocytheridea impressa Wichmannella bradyi assemblage (9.0~ 4.5 m);Ⅳ Sinocytheridea impressa Tanella opima assemblage (4.5~2.5 m);Ⅴ Tanella opima Sinocytheridea impressa assemblage (2.5~1.6 m);Ⅵ Tanella opima Loxoconcha binhaiensis assemblage (1.6~0.5 m);Ⅶ Ilocypris manasensis Ilocypris bradyi assemblage (0.5~0 m). Based on an analysis of the environment, the author holds that the palaeoenvironment of the northwestern coastal area of the Bohai Gulf has gone through a complete marine transgression sequence since Holocene, i.e., from -16.0 m to the top, it covers a complete sedimentation cycle of marine transgression and marine ingression. |
