Distribution of C, N, P and δ13C in Aquatic Plants of Some Lakes in the Middle Yangtze Valley
      An analysis of three sorts of elements(C, N, P) in ten kinds of aquatic plants from nine lakes in the middle Yangtze valley reveals that the concentrations of C, N and δ 13C in leaves of aquatic macrophytes depend on their living environment. The concentrations of C and N in leaves of submerged macrophytes are significantly lower than those of leaves from floating and emergent macrophytes due to the limitation of inorganic carbon. In addition, as the concentration of δ 13C in organic carbon of water is higher than that of CO 2 in air, the δ 13C concentration of leaves of submerged macrophytes is higher than that of leaves of floating and emergent macrophytes.
