Oxygen and Hydrogen Isotopic Compositions of Pore Water from Marine Sediments in the Northern South China Sea
      Oxygen and hydrogen isotopic compositions of pore water from marine sediments are good indicators for gas hydrates. The South China Sea is located among three major plates. Its geological and tectonic settings, thick sediment columns, high sedimentation rates and high contents of organic matters, together with geophysical evidence for the existence of BSR, all point to the great potential of gas hydrates in this region. This paper reports oxygen and hydrogen isotopic compositions of pore water from marine sediments in the northern South China Sea, in an attempt to study the isotope anomaly that may be related to gas hydrates.
