| Late Permian Brachiopod Faunas from Wuli Group of Geladandong Mountain Area in the Source Region of the Yangtze River |
| Two brachiopod assemblages from Late Permian Wuli Group were recognized in Geladandong Mountain area within the source region of the Yangtze River. One is the Spinomarginifera cf. kueichowensis-Tschernyschewia cf. sinensis-Tyloplecta cf. yangtzeensis assemblage from the Nayixiong Formation of Lower Wuli Group, which is considered to be Wuchiapingian in age. The other is the Leptodus nobilis-Perigeyerella costellata-Enteletes subequivalis assemblage in the Labuchari Formation of Upper Wuli Group, which is thought to be Changhsingian in age. The Late Permian brachiopod in the area belongs biogeographically to the Tethys Realm. Both of them are comparable with the faunas from the contemporaneous strata in southern China. |
