X-ray Analysis of Deformed Rocks from the Congshuban Pb-Zn Deposit, Hunan
      Based on the X-ray petrofabrics analysis of the wall rocks and deformed rocks from the ore-bearing structural zone of the Congshuban Pb-Zn deposit, Hunan Province, the authors draw some conclusions. First, the smaller the fragments of the clastic rocks, the more sensitive the reaction of petrofabric to structural deformation;the fabrics of siltstone and slate are stronger than those of grit and fine sandrocks. Second, the EW-trending fold has an obvious fabric, while SN-trending fold is characterized by weak oriented fabrics. Third, the alteaation of ore-baring hydrothermal solutions destroyed the fabric of early fold, but there is not an oriented crystallized fabric of quartz in the Pb-Zn ore vein. Therefore, in the process of crystallization and formation of ore veins, there exists no extensional stress for filling mineralizastion and crystallizaion of quartz crystals into combs;therefore, metasomatism is the main alteration and mineralization form. All this is consistent with the viewpoints on the genesis of the deposit reached by geological and geochemical studies.
