A Study of the Isotopic Composition of the Xiaorequanzi Copper and Zinc Deposit in Xinjiang, China
      The Xiaorequanzi deposit is a copper(zinc)-rich deposit recently discovered in Xinjiang, China.The ore genesis of this deposit has aroused interest from geologists. In this paper the isotopic features of sulfur, oxygen, hydrogen, silicon as well as helium and argon in sulfide minerals and their host rocks were detailedly investigated, and the K-Ar dating of sulfides was tentatively approached by the author.Of the sulfide minerals the δ 34 S values are +1.5‰~+11.1‰,averaging(46) +6.15‰, the isotope ratios of initial 3 He and 4 He are 5×10 -8 ~2.17×10 -6, averaging(6) 0.64×10 -6, and the isotope ratios of initial 40 Ar and 36 Ar are 305.27~439.81, averaging(8) 353.57. Of quartz in the host rock the δ 18 O values are +7.5‰~+11.7‰,averaging(8) +9.23‰; the δ 30 Si values are 0.00‰~-0.8‰, averaging -0.3‰; δD values are -66‰~-121‰, averaging(3) -97‰. The K-Ar age values of the sulfides are 339.1 Ma, 230.2 Ma and 98.4 Ma. The above data show that the ore sources of the copper and zinc deposit are characterized by crust-mantle mixing, and the formation of the deposit is characterized by syngenesis and multiple mineralization.
