Fractal Dimensions of Fault Gouges from the Xiannüshan Fault and Its Activity
      Fault gouges in active fault zones record a lot of impo rtant information about recent fault activity. In this paper, the authors try to discuss the relation between the fractal dimensions of fault gouges from the X iannüshan fault zone and its activity based on the fractal theory. The results s uggest that the fault is characterized essentially by sticky slip, with some ste ady creeping slip. Based on the above coupled with other results, the fault act ivity and influence on hydroelectric projects are also discussed.
