Magnetic Fabric of Cenozoic Rocks in the Liaohe Basin and Its Geological Implications
      A new method to recover the original arimuth of the magnetic susceptibility by using the results of paleomagnetic measurements of unoriented samples is proposed in this paper. Studies of the magnetic fabric suggest that the deformation of the Cenozoic rocks in the Liaohe basin is weak and is dominated by flattening one. The directions of regional stresses that the Liaohe basin underwent during the periods of the third member and the second-first members of the Shahejie Fm. and the Dongying Fm. have been determined by various sieving methods, to be NE~SW(40°~50°),WNW ESE(100°~120°) and NE SW(60°~70°) respectively.
