摘要:
The Structural Styles and Genetic Analysis of Collapse-type Foreland Basins in Central Asia and Northwestern China
Most Mesozoic-Cenozoic sedimentary basins in central Asia and northwestern China are different from those of continental margin area. Firstly they settle in the foreland (which means the front of orogenic belt or active uplift belt) and then extend outward gradually; They make the deepest subsidence in early- and middle-Jurassic so that widespread decompensated deep lake—subdeep lake sediments are formed and are even developed in orogenic belt, so this is a stage of peneplained plan-basin sedimentation; The structural styles of the basins in early stage are all half-graben depression and in late stage are total-reverse thrust nappe and semi-reverse normal- or abnormal-reverse structures. These features, together with regional tectonic setting, show that the initial subsidence of Mesozoic-Cenozoic basins in this area is not completely caused by the flexure due to plate subduction, but mainly by gravity-collapse of craton massif in the foreland. The basins formed in this way can be called collapse foreland basins.
