The System of Engineering Category Dividing of Granite Residual Soil
      Granite residual soil has its specific characteristics .Its engineering category has not been solved so far. Based on amount of laboratory data and analysis of available category scheme, the engineering category system was established according to the percentage of coarse sand grain in the soil by the author.Granite residual soil can be divided into three types with dividing line of 15%, 35% of coarse sand grain content, e.g. residual viscous soil, residual sandy viscous soil and residual gravely soil. Comparing the category scheme with available programme, it has characteristics and advantage in the field of choice of category scheme, running of indoor and field and determination of dividing line target. It lay a foundation for the correct engineering geological assessment.
