Metallogenic Models of the Aluminum Rich Podiform Chromite Deposits |
The podiform chromite depoisit of Aluminum type is referred to an ore deposit occurring in mantle peridotite of ophiolite of PTG lineage and having an ore with Al 2O 3_high (>20%) and Cr 2O 3_low (>45%). The ophiolite of PTG lineage is mainly composed of Peridotite (P)-Troctonite(T)-Olivine gabbro (G). It is represented by the Sartuohai, Hongguleleng and Hegenshan chromite depopsits. The rock bodies with Al_rich deposits differ from those with Cr_rich chromite deposits by occurrence of abundant basic segregations associated with the rock bodies, of Pl_bearing mantle peridotites and thin crust of chlorite around the margin of Al_rich ores. The studies of the authors indicate that the Al rich chromites are products formed by varying degrees of melting and reformation of primary pyrolites. The ore magma of chromium rich is the final residue formed by high degree melting. There are two metallogenic models in mineralization of the Al rich chromite deposits. One is the product of moderate lower degree of melting and reformation of pyrolite. It is represented by the Hongguleleng chromite deposit characterized by absence of high melted complex belt. So, the mineralization of the Hongguleleng chromite deposit can be called moderate lower melting and reformation metallogenic model. The other is the products of high degree of melting and reformation of pyrolite. It's represented by the Sartuohai and deposit characterized by present of the high melted complex belts. The reequilibrium between the basic melt and Cr rich ore magma was happened in the mineralization of it. Therefore, the matllogenic model of the Sartuohai deposit can be called high melting and reformation_reequilibrium metallogenic model. |
