| ESR Dating of the Sediments |
| The characteristics of ESR dating of quartz in sediments were researched in more detaie, the signals of Ge centres of quartz in sediments can be used for ESR dating. Based on the characteristic that the saturation power of E centers in quartz is smaller, the ESR ages of older marine sediments (more than 500ka) can be obtained by using a higher microwave power. The abnomality of E centers of quartz can be used as an indicator to distinguish the environment of coastal eolian sand. In addition, some geological applica-tions of ESR dating of the sediments were introduced. |
