摘要:
Cenozoic Para-Orogenic Movement in China
Cenozoic era is the latest and the shortest stage in geologic history. As the varied stages before, orogenic movements are rather active in this era, but their strength is seldom noticed probably because they are still in a developing stage. Through analysing the fault and fold tectonics of regions such as the Himalaya, the Qaidam. Tarim and Junggar pert-basins in western China, and Taiwan in eastern China, the fact that there are orogenic movements in Cenozoic era is confirmed. Great and wonderful mountain ranges which have belt-like fold tectonic geomorphic forms are often formed in the contact zones among large-scale blocks. The movement to create this kind of tectonic mountains is called "ortho-orogenic movement". The synchronous movement taking place within other continental blocks outside the "ortho-orogenic movement" regions is called"para-orogenic movement", which creates small-scale fold tectonic geomrphic forms or largescale wavy mountain mass made by fault uplift and depression. By synthesizing typical fold structural layers and strata discontinuities in eastern and western China, Cenozoic era can be divided into three first-order orogenic movement stages (Ed - 3, E3 - N1, N2 -Q1 - 2 ) and two secondary orogenic movement stages (N1 - N2, Q1 -2 ) and two secondary orogenic movement stages (N1-N2, Q1-2).
