DISCUSSION ON STRUCTURAL ENVIRONMENTS OF URANIUM MINERALIZATION IN WESTERN QINLING MOUNTAIN BY ANALYSIS OF MICRO-STRUCTURES
      This paper discusses the structural environments of post-diagenetic uranium-mineralization by analysis of micro-structures. It is pointed out that the first and foremost condition of mineralization is structural disturbance; the bettering of source uranium and their subsequent enrichment are the two important events in the mineralization; the uranium-adsorbing carbon is released from the crystal by structure-induced recrystallization, leading to refinement of sources uranium; the released uranium is concerntated into ores along the tensile and tenso-shear fractures. It is the tectonic activity that provides conditions favourable for the change of uranium, sources and creates the spaces for uranium enrichments.Analysis of the twinning of calcite, and the stylolites shows that the principal stresses are nearly horizontal. The change of surface energy calculated from the change of the total surface area before and after pressure solution and recrystallization, is 0.133J/cm3, which can serve as a measure of the magnitude of stress. The differential stress (σ1 -σ3) for ore-bearing fault estimated from the sizes of dyamic recrystallized grains, is 24-51 MPa. The uranium contents are found to increace with the increase of differential stress.
