SOME ADVANCES IN RESEARCHES OF PLATE TECTONICS OF CHINA |
1. Based on some new materials obtained in recent years, China and its-adjacent areas may be divided into seven paleoplates since the Phanerozoic: 1) Tarim-Sinokorean, 2) South China, 3) Gangdise-Lhasa, 4) Siberian, 5) Kazakhstanian, 6) Indian and 7) Philippine Sea. 2. New advances in researches of the plate tectonics of the Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau: 1) The establishment of a complete ophiolitic section in the Yarlung Zangbo River region;2) The recognition of the high-pressure and low-temperature metamorphic belt of Yarlung Zangbo River;3) Yarlung Zangbo melange was further divided according to its origin of formation;4) Advances in stratigraphy and paleontology of North Xizang;5) Preliminary study of Bangong Lake-Dengqen ophiolite zone. 3. Some new geological data about Sanjiang areas:1) The founding of a paired-metamorphic zone in the Lancang River;2) The further study of the Ailaoshan ancient subduction;3) Preliminary recognition of Garze-Litang Indosinian subduction zone;4) Some new understandings of Nujiang River metamorphic zone. 4. Advances in the study of plate tectonics in North China.1) The study of the principal sutures in North China;2) New data about the ophiolite in North China;3) The evolution of the plate tectonics of North China. |
