| THE UPPER ORDOVICIAN CEPHALOPODS OF YAOXIAN AREA,SHAANXI PROVINCE |
| The Sandaogou formation and overlying Taoqupo formation constitutethe Ordovician of the Yaoxian area, Shaanxi. Two cephalopod faunas arerecognized. Tofangoceras shaanxiense fauna occurs in the top of Sandaogouformation and the lowest part of Taoqupo formation, and belongs to thePagoda or Miaopo--Pagoda stage. The other fauna Yaoxianoceras latilobatumoccurs in the top of Taoqupo formation and belongs to the early Wufengstage.Therefore the Lower-Upper Ordovician boundary lies within the Sandaogou formation. |
