| The Qinghai-Xizang(Tibet) Plateau is made up of The basement of Pre-cambrian metamorphic rocks and an overlying complete stratigraphic sequencefrom lower palaeozoic upwards, further influenced by igneous activities at variousperiods, On. the basis of lithofacies and tectonic features, the Plateau is dividedinto the following three major folded regions with their subordinate units:A. The Qilian-Kunlun Folded Region; B.Xikang-Xizang (Tibet) Mesozoic Folded Reigon; C.Himalaya Cenozoic Foleded Region. |
