| Abstract:On the basis of the study on the Early Proterozoic metamorphic formations of China, it can be confirmed that the North China sub-domain of the Sino-Korean metamor-phic domain was the upwarped area of rather stability in the China continental crust of the Early Proterozoic period. This time,because of the frequent interchange of the marine and land environments, the variety of the sedimentary environments are shown in this area, they include that of the littoral facies, land facies and alternating facies of them. The stro-matolite-bearing microbiogenic carbonate rocks and the coarse-grained detrital rocks are commomtly developed. After rock forming, owing to the tectonic setting is rather stability in this area, it had been only slightly subjected to the metamorphism and deformation. The Early Proterozoic metamorphic strata exposed mostly belong to the neritic to bathyal facies in the Tianshan-Xingan, Tarim-Alxa, Qaidam-Qilian, Northern Qinling-Dabei, Yangtze and Cathysian metamorphic domains, and it seem that their sedimentary environ-ments are rather simple, and its protolith mainly are flysch-flyschoid formations. Most of them contain the minor basic volcanic rocks and carbonate rocks. They had been subjected to the more strong metamorphism and deformation. It is shown that the sedimendary envi-ronments and characteristics of the Early Proterozoic strata in the Yinshan, Jiaoliao sub-domains of the Sino-Korean metamorphic donain exhibit the transitional type between that the North China sub-domain of the Sino-Korean metamorphic domain and other metamor-phic domains. After Luliang movement,the tectonic setting of the Sino-Korean metamor-phic domain is the paraplatform, however, other metamorphic domain are still situated in the active tectonic setting for a time. |
