| Continental Dynamics Study in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau ──Experiences from the "INDEPTH" Cooperative Study |

| Abstract:"NDEPTH" is a project of continental dynamics study, conducted jointly by Chinese and American geoscientists. The great significance of the project, its long-term strategic aims and the process of deliberation over the cooperative agreement, the scientific objectives of a new round of the study of Himalaya orogenic belt and Qinghai-Tibet plateau, the guiding principle and the characteristics of the research work are introduced in the paper, with some suggestions made regarding the organization and management of the project. |
