Historical evolution of Jurassic paleo-ocean as a reference for petroleum exploration of the Qiangtang basin in Tibetan plateau
      The Qiangtang Basin is a significant target for petroleum exploration in the Tibetan Tethys domain of China. Currently, high-quality source rocks characterized by oil shales and dolomite reservoirs within carbonate platform facies have been revealed in Jurassic strata in this area. Drawing upon the latest advancements in global Jurassic paleo-oceanography and paleo-climatology research, this paper aims to analyze the mechanism of organic matter enrichment and sedimentary models of carbonate platforms during the Jurassic period from the perspective of global sea level fluctuations, changes in paleo-ocean temperatures, and positive and negative carbon isotope excursion. The objective is to provide valuable insights for predicting hydrocarbon-generating basins and delineating favorable exploration blocks within the Qiangtang Basin in Tibetan plateau.
