Geochemical characteristics and driving mechanisms of selenium in soil of Ningbo plain region
      Selenium (Se) is a trace element that is indispensable to the human body. The study of its geochemical characteristics and driving mechanisms is of significant importance for the development of selenium-enriched land resources. The study analyses multi-objective regional geochemical survey data from Zhejiang Province, employing both single-factor and interaction detection within the Geodetector framework. The study elucidates the geochemical characteristics of surface soil selenium in the city""s plains, thereby revealing the driving mechanisms influencing selenium content and distribution. The results indicate that the average selenium content in Ningbo""s topsoil is 0.35 mg/kg, with selenium-rich land (containing 0.4–3.0 mg/kg selenium) accounting for 25.83% of the total area.
