摘要:
Exploration into the Development Characteristics and Causes of Guizhou Ziyun Miao Chamber, a World Super Cave
As the largest known cavern hall in the world by volume (with a capacity of 10.57×10? m3), the Miao Hall in Ziyun County, Guizhou, holds significant scientific value in revealing the developmental patterns of super-large karst cave systems. Based on cave exploration and regional geological and hydrogeological survey data, this study systematically investigates the developmental characteristics and primary controlling factors of the karst cave system where the Miao Hall is located, while also exploring the formation mechanisms of the Miao Hall. The findings indicate: (1) In terms of lithological-structural coupling control, the Miao Hall developed in the thick-bedded limestone of the Middle Permian Qixia-Maokou Formation, with its cave development governed by a conjugate joint system trending northeast and northwest; (2) Regarding the hydrological evolution process, intermittent uplift caused by regional neotectonic movements led to three-stage downcutting of the hydrological network, forming three horizontal karst cave systems at elevations of 600-850 m, 900-1050 m, and 1100-1300 m; (3) Under the dual control of lateral hydrodynamic forces and vertical water diversion by paleoflows, the Miao Hall developed its "double dome" structure and ultra-large cave space. This study establishes an evolutionary model of the Miao Hall governed by the "lithology-structure-hydrology" triad, providing a reference for researching the formation mechanisms of world-class super caves and offering important guidance for the scientific protection and sustainable development of karst cave resources.
