Characteristics and geological significance of rare earth elements of the second Member of Funing Formation in Gaoyou Sag, Subei Basin |
The second member of Funing Formation is the main source rock group and exploration focus in Subei Basin. In recent years, the successful trial production of shale oil horizontal wells such as HY1 in Gaoyou Sag has shown great shale oil exploration potential. However, current research on the sedimentation rate of the second member of the Funing Formation shale, whether the second member of the Funing Formation shale was influenced by diagenesis in later stages, and the structural background, protolith properties, and provenance direction of the source area of the second member of the Funing Formation shale is relatively weak. This seriously constraints further exploration of the shale oil in the second member of the Funing Formation. In this paper, the key shale of the second member of Funing Formation, Gaoyou Sag, Subei Basin, is studied. The geochemical characteristics of rare earth elements are studied, and the significance of rare earth elements on the diagenesis, sedimentary environment and provenance characteristics of the second member shale of Funing Formation, Subei Basin is discussed. The results show that light rare earth elements are abundant and heavy rare earth elements are insufficient in the second member of Funing Formation in Gaoyou Sag, Subei Basin. The distribution curve is obvious to the right, the Eu negative anomaly is obvious, and the Ce positive anomaly is weak. The sedimentary environment of the second member of Funing Formation in Gaoyou Sag of Subei Basin is relatively stable anoxic reduction environment, the longitudinal REDOX conditions do not change significantly, and the sedimentation rate gradually decreases from bottom to top. The tectonic background of the second member of Funing Formation in Gaoyou Sag of Subei Basin is an active continental margin related to continental island arc. The parent rock is a mixture of sedimentary rock and granite, formed from felsic/basic material in the continental crust. Its provenance mainly comes from the joint contribution of Sulu orogenic belt in the northwest of Subei Basin, Dabie Mountain orogenic belt in the west and Zhangba Ridge uplift in the southwest. |
