Cover Story:A map showing distribution of Mesozoic granites in parts of Asia. Large numbers of Mesozoic granites recently discovered in China and neighboring areas were studied comprehensively, the temporal-spatial distribution, genetic evolution and provenance characteristics of the Mesozoic granites in Central Asia and Central Orogenic Belt were summed up preliminarily and, on such a basis, varied tectonic environments were revealed. A digitalized map of Mesozoic granites in Asia driven by attributes were compiled on the basis of integrating all the achieve-ments available. These results are of great importance for the thorough understanding of Mesozoic geotectonic evolution, dynamics process of plate collage and regional metallogenic background of Asia. The research achievement led by Professor WANG Tao, Institute of Geology, CAGS, ranks the fifth among “Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progresses of CAGS in 2013”.
