封面故事:苏鲁南部超高压榴辉岩中的金红石-绿辉石-蓝晶石(Ky)-石英(Qtz)脉。是大陆深俯冲过程中所形成的富硅酸盐超临界流体结晶的产物。研究证明在极端条件下的流体-岩石相互作用可以导致化学不活动元素发生迁移和分异,深俯冲到地幔中的超高压榴辉岩是地球中超球粒陨石Nb/Ta比值的物质源区。这项由中国地质科学院地质研究所张泽明研究员主持的研究成果,当选2008年度中国地质科学院十大科技进展,排名第一。详见本期第5-20页。(照片提供:张泽明)
Cover Story:A rutile- and omphacite-bearing kyanite (Ky)-quartz (Qtz) vein in the ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) eclogite of the Sulu orogenic belt, eastern China. It crystallized from the silicate-rich supercritical fluid derived from the deeply subducted continental crust. Studies demonstrated that the supercritical fluid-rock interaction under the extreme UHP metamorphic condition can result in the mobility of chemically immobile elements and the high-degree fractionation between Nb and Ta, and that large amounts of UHP eclogites subducted into the deep mantle serve as high Nb/Ta ratio reservoirs in the earth. The research achievement directed by Professor ZHANG Ze-ming, Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, ranks first among the “Top Ten Scientific and Techno-logical Progresses of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences in 2008”.
