Cover Story：Field work photo of Academician CHEN Yuchuan in the Dabaoshan Cu deposit, Guangdong Province. Academincan CHEN Yuchuan is a renowned geologist in both China and abroad. His efforts and outstanding contri-butions to geological scientific research and geo-logical exploration in China are noteworthy. He proposed the porphyritic iron deposit mineraliza-tion model, the world’s first complete regional mineralization model. He independently established and developed the theory of metallogenic series of mineral deposits, guiding mineralization study and geological exploration. He presented a series of proposals regarding the reform and development of China’s geological industry, contributing to-ward high- quality development in mining industry. He organized the “Geology of Mineral Resources of China”, the first large-scale professional annal in the field of mineral resources in New China. These innovative achievements are a manifestation of Academician CHEN Yuchuan’s national sentiment of “devoting oneself to the geological cause is the most honorable”, which serves as a flag of China’s mining industry and a monument in China’s geology and mining.
